Changing Hats: Celebrating ITS Career Moves

Throughout the organization, ITS saw many of our talented staff move into new roles during the past fiscal year. Here, we celebrate their accomplishments and career development!
AnnualReport-CadwellSuzanne Cadwell became the permanent Director of ITS Teaching & Learning in April 2016, after serving as Interim Director since February 2015. She previously served as Instructional Technology Consultant and ITS Liaison with the UNC-Chapel Hill Center for Faculty Excellence.
AnnualReport-WolffPaul Wolff was hired as Manager of the ITS ResNET team in February 2016 after previously serving as Interim Manager and before that, as the ResNET Assistant Program Manager for more than seven years.
AnnualReport-EckertFormerly CCI, CRC and Dispatch Services Manager, Dave Eckert gained the new title of Managed IT Services Manager in May 2016, with the merger of On Site Support and Dispatch.
AnnualReport-TurnerRyan Turner was hired as the Manager of the ITS Communication Technologies Network Operations group in May 2016 after serving as Interim Manager. Previously, as a long-time Network Specialist in that group, he was responsible for many of the group’s advanced offerings, including Network Access Control (NAC) and eduroam. He started with ITS in the Control Center.
AnnualReport-HillRichard Hill was hired as Manager of the ITS Systems Support team in June 2016 after previously serving as team lead for ITS Internal Support for 10 years.
AnnualReport-DelucaAfter working as a Support Specialist in ITS Internal Support for nine years, Tony DeLuca moved to ITS Middleware as a Solution Engineer in May 2016.
AnnualReport-DeCristefaroLeander DeCristofaro became a Systems Programmer with the Windows Server Infrastructure Team in ITS Open Systems in June 2016. He had been an Analyst with the Business Systems Help Desk since 2015, and before that, an Analyst with ITRC since 2013.
AnnualReport-ReigelChristina Riegel moved over to ITS ResNET as Technology Support Analyst from the ITS Service Desk Tier 2.
AnnualReport-WilliamsChris Williams, ResNET’s Manager for 11 years, was named Carolina’s Student Affairs IT Director in July 2015. He has worked in IT at UNC-Chapel Hill for more than 15 years.
  • After serving as Network Architect, Danny Shue now heads up the Network Architecture and Services group within Network Operations for ITS Communication Technologies. He has worked for ITS for six years.
  • Charles Manker, who was an Applications Analyst with ITS Security, is now with Cybermation and Enterprise Monitoring.
  • William Allen has moved to the 24/7 Ops Center after serving as a Tech Support Analyst with what was known as ITS On Site Support, where he supported the Registrar’s Office. Previously, he was with the ITS Control Center.
